On Sunday, February 7th, as a lead up event to their main OBR Philippines event on February 14 (where strict observation of covid safety protocols of mask wearing and social distancing will be implemented) – community women in Marikina City – led by Gabriela – held a One Billion Rising 2021 RISING GARDENS action.

The event, participated in by the following groups: Gabriela, Gabriela Women’s Party, Bangon (Rise) Marikin Youth,
Salinlahi Youth
Childrens Collective, and Bangon (Rise) Marikina – celebrated OBR Rising Gardens 2021 by planting and growing their organic community garden, and by dancing all the OBR Philippine dances (“Bangon” and “Bangon Na Sa Rebolusyon”), as well as OBR Tilburg’s dance “We Are Beautiful” and the OBR
global anthems “Break The Chain” and “We Are Rising”.
