A few hours ago, at 5:30am local time (GMT+8:00) One Billion Rising for Justice Activist headed by land to the Southern Tagalog region in the province of Batangas for the launch of their One Billion Rising for Justice Campaign, hosted by Gabriela Southern Tagalog.
The schedule is as follows:
8am: LIPA City (Batangas) – Meeting with Congressman Mendoza and women leaders
9:30am: Padre Garcia town (Batangas) – Meeting with mayor, women leaders and Local government units
10:30am: Rosario City (Batangas) – Meeting with mayor and local government units
11:30am: Kapitolyo City (Batangas) – Meeting with the governor and police chiefs
1pm: City Hall (Batangas) – Meet with mayor
3pm: LAUNCHING OF OBR BATANGAS PROVINCE, at the Batangas PIER, in the Barangay Sta Clara community. They RISE for the issues of demolition, economic violence, and its connection to violence against women. This town with 1,000 rural poor community members will hold a protest rally, and will DANCE the One Billion Rising dance “Break the Chain” in front of their homes that are being demolished.
The RISING is escalating!!!
