Calls needed in the next two days for Senator Gillibrand’s Military Justice Improvement Act
The Senate has agreed to take up the bills addressing sexual assault in the military and the vote could be as early as THIS WEDNESDAY. Please call your Senators and either thank them for their support (see list of public supporters below) or try one last time to convince the “undecideds” and “I’m not telling” to support two efforts when it’s time to vote. Contact info for Senators: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm?OrderBy=state&Sort=ASC
1. Please do NOT support a filibuster. Please vote for the motion to proceed. (60 votes are needed)
2. Please vote for Senator Gillibrand’s Military Justice Improvement Act
There are currently 55 public supporters, including the two newest supporters, Senators Walsh (D-MT) and Moran (R-KS). Please thank them. There are at least 3 more “silent” supporters so we need two more Senators to oppose the filibuster, vote to proceed and then vote for the bill.
Ask for the chief of staff or Legislative Director: “Don’t Filibuster Military Sexual Assault Reforms”
