Over a quarter of the Armenian women are hit or beaten by a family member and about two thirds experience psychological abuse, according to the official statistics. With high rates of gender based violence and gender discrimination in Armenia, raising awareness and promoting gender equality is a critical issue for our society. Combating these issues has been the main mission of our NGO for the last 13 years.
Having that in mind, this year our team decided to join this inspiring global initiative that your organization started. On February 14 we organized “One billion rising” flash mob in Yerevan, Armenia to raise the awareness on gender based violence in our country.
