“In solidarity with One Billion Rising, UP Mindanao students gathered at the Oblation Circle to rise against violence toward women. Wearing purple, Gabriela Youth UP Mindanao led the students to stand united in amplifying the call to end all forms of gender-based violence and to uphold the rights, safety, and dignity of every woman.

On the call to “Rise for Our Bodies, Our Earth, and Our Future,” the action asserts that ending gender-based violence demands more than words—it demands resistance. The struggle for women’s bodies is inseparable from the fight for freedom, democracy, and justice. In the spirit of One Billion Rising, we rise not only against abuse, but against the systems that enable it: corruption, fascism, exploitation, and impunity.”
