“Imagine a square full of people dancing.
They ain’t celebrating.
They’re putting it up.
One Billion Rising, is a movement born to say no to violence against women and girls.
A billion is not just a number: it’s faces, stories, lives.

It is a global event that demonstrates how union and solidarity can become a powerful force of change. When millions of bodies move together the message becomes impossible to ignore. One Billion Rising reminds us that silence protects those who do evil, not those who suffer it.
He invites us not to be spectators, but part of the change.
So, together, let’s stand up, not be indifferent, let’s use our voice, our bodies and our presence to build a society based on respect, equality and freedom. Let’s stand up for those who can no longer do it.

We want to thank the Caltanissetta Women’s Consult, the Galatea Anti-violence Center, the Panathlon Club of Caltanisseta and the UISP Territorial Committee for sharing this moment with us. A special thank you goes to Francesca Gallina and the students of her dance school Rosse Scarpette for the sensitivity shown on the subject.”
