Two Risings in Wenchi, Ghana: Festival and School Event Ignite Community

1. Wenchi, Bono Region, Ghana

RISE FOR YOUR BODIES, OUR EARTH OUR FUTURE. BREAKING FREE: The struggle of African women at the crossroads of fascism and patriarchy in Africa.

Ghana rose with the people of Wenchi in the Bono Region of Ghana, which is a 10- to 11-hour drive from the capital city, Accra.

We spent our V-Day rising, sharing and dancing.
We made them smile and laugh.
We are happy with the impact we have had on women, children, and men as allies.

2. SCHOOL SHARING EVENT on Friday, 13 February, we held a school sharing event where we distributed sanitary pads, books, shoes, and clothes to schoolchildren. There was also be a media tour, and we invited the community to join us for the main festival on Saturday.”
