Rise, Dance, Empower: GSU Steps Up for Women

“Salvador Campus — Following the flag-raising ceremony led today by the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the Guimaras State University (GSU) community gathered, danced for a cause, and moved for equality as part of the One Billion Rising Movement Mob Dance, taking place in the University Grandstand.

Dressed in purple shirts as a symbol of solidarity, faculty, staff, and students moved as one. The event, organized by the Gender and Development (GAD) Office and the Physical Education (PE) Department, is part of GSU’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and progressive society.

This initiative aligns with the National Women’s Month Celebration this March, carrying the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas.” By taking action—whether through dance, dialogue, or advocacy—GSU continues to stand for women’s rights, empowerment, and a future of equal opportunities for all. | via Jcel Fe RB T.
