Purple-clad Senate officials and employees grooved to “Babae, Babangon!” as they took part in the “One Billion Rising” movement on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 in celebration of the National Women’s Month.

Themed “Rise for Freedom,” the international movement calls for an end to violence against women and children, as well as the impunity and injustice suffered by women across the globe.

This year’s Women’s Month festivities in the upper chamber, led by the Senate Gender and Development Focal Point System and employees’ union Sandigan ng mga Empleyadong Nagkakaisa sa Adhikain ng Demokratikong Oganisasyon (SENADO), also aims to celebrate women achievements and empower the participation of women across all sectors.
