“The entire world has been under the oppression and exploitation of international monopoly capitalism since the beginning of the 20th century or has been exactly 125 years in 2025. Deadly crises have given birth to two World Wars and now the same crisis is giving birth to the next World War. The majority of nations and billions of people still live in very severe suffering, especially the ranks of the industrial proletariat who live relying on the sale of their labor which is getting cheaper and more valuable from time to time in the midst of a massive overproduction crisis. The peasants are increasingly losing the conditions to produce freely because of limited land and exorbitant production costs. Minority ethnic groups throughout the interior of the world cannot determine their own destiny and lose power over their own ancestral lands.
However, women, youth and children of oppressed and exploited peoples are the main victims of the imperialist crisis. The never-ending crisis is eroding the livelihoods of women, multiplying their already mounting burdens. The uncertain future of youth and children due to the economic, political and cultural crises and imperialist wars of aggression and intervention are strengthening the chains of oppression for women. Depriving them of all their remaining democratic rights.
The coming years will be even more difficult for women. President Donald J. Trump, who has just been inaugurated as President of the United States, will repeat his fascist and discriminatory policies against women, not only for American women but for the entire world.
In Indonesia, the election of President Prabowo Subianto as the new imperialist puppet head of government thanks to his commitment to continue all of President Joko Widodo’s (JOKOWI) plans and programs has deepened the chronic crisis of the Semi-Colonial and Semi-Feudal (SJSF) system. The threat of losing sovereignty over productive forces, both labor and natural resources in the country itself, has increased sharply due to President Prabowo’s excessive efforts to attract foreign investment since his inauguration. The threat of losing land, endemic agricultural destruction, environmental damage, and drought and flood disasters due to the expansion of nickel, coal, and tin mining and the expansion of oil palm plantations is very real.
Various extreme crimes against women, youth and children are increasing and widespread throughout Indonesia, with no signs of stopping. Rape followed by robbery and murder are still ongoing and are a real terror for civilized society. Sexual harassment in the workplace, especially in factories and large plantations owned by landlords, is like an endemic disease. Fraud and violence on social media make women and children the main victims.
In short, President Prabowo’s quick win program, including the food sovereignty program, is simply a re-acknowledgement that Indonesia does not have any sovereignty, in any field.
In the current situation, Indonesian women have no other choice but to rise up against the end of imperialist domination in Indonesia. Only by ending imperialist domination, the semi-colonial and semi-feudal system, the main cause of chronic poverty in rural and urban areas can be eliminated. A people’s democracy system must be born in Indonesia to replace the joint power of imperialist henchmen led by puppet governments that always change routinely through general elections. A strong women’s movement has become a living condition for the victory of national democratic spatialization in Indonesia.
Raise, Organize and Mobilize Women from all classes and sectors of the oppressed people of Indonesia as widely as possible to win the struggle for the liberation of the nation and people from the domination of imperialism, from the semi-colonial and semi-feudal system, for a free, just and more advanced people’s democracy system!” – Seruni
