“The success of the 2025 Eswatini Youth Arts Freedom Festival on ending violence was a testament to the boundless power of youth to shape their future. Through art, dance, music, poetry, and powerful discussions, the festival illuminated the strength of youth leadership and their unyielding commitment to standing up for sexual reproductive health rights. It was a canvas of unity, creativity, and diversity, showing the world that together, we have the power to end violence and create a brighter tomorrow for all.
Youth from schools stepped forward, using the power of poetry, drama, dance, and song to express their call for an end to violence. Their creative voices lead the way in the fight for peace, proving that the next generation is a force for change. True inclusivity is through embracing diversity! The LGBTQI consortium was seen and heard through different artistic expressions and information sharing. During the festival on ending violence, men sent an apology to women. All survivors of violence long for an apology from their abusers in order to heal
Join us again for the cultural Rising on the 1st of March!” – Colani Hlatjwako, One Billion Rising Africa Coordinatorhe
