One Billion Rising global coordinators, organizers and activists are launching their OBR 2019 campaigns during the 16 Days of Activism in November – highlighting 25 November – the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women to announce their local campaigns. These OBR launches begin local and regional OBR Solidarity campaigns all over the world – in preparation and as lead up to major Rising events on 14 February 2019 until 8 March 2019. Alongside the OBR 2019 theme of Solidarity, each country will Rise, Resist and Unite for specific violence against women issues, as well as highlight and focus on intersectional issues that continue to create, sustain and escalate violence. The 16 Days of Activism OBR launches gear up more than 200 countries from all over the world for their major Rising events in 2019.
This year’s theme is RISING: FROM A CAMPAIGN, TO A WAY OF LIFE.
It is not one day that we rise, but every day that this consciousness must rise in all we do.
Here is a snapshot of some major Rising launches taking place around the world during 16 Days of Activism.
