Rise for Climate on 8 September

Published: 3 August 2018

On 8 September, thousands of communities around the world will #RiseforClimate and set a new standard for real climate leadership and to demand our local leaders commit to building a fossil free world that puts people and justice before profits.

Together let’s RISE up and JOIN in this worldwide day of action and a major climate march in San Francisco – the largest the West Coast has ever seen, to coincide with the Global Climate Action Summit.

Check out the video from our friends at 350.org to learn more about the march:

One Billion Rising and V-Day call on activists in the Bay Area and AROUND THE GLOBE to RISE for Climate Justice & Mother Earth and join this historic march. The global climate crisis continues to affect communities around the world, but women and girls suffer the most in terms of long term loss of livelihood, forced migration, trafficking and other climate related conflicts. Indigenous populations everywhere have also suffered gravely – displaced and forced to flee and relocate – making them the world’s first climate refugees.

Rise for Climate Justice and Mother Earth on September 8 is a call for justice against the aggressive greed and global exploitation of nature and people that deepen the inequalities of wealth and power. It is a call to restore dignity, integrity and respect towards Mother Earth and to all people of the world, particularly women and girls, who have been equally violated by policies and programs that cause environmental degradation and plunder.

RISE UP, Join us!

No more stalling, no more delays: it’s time for a fast and fair transition to 100% renewable energy for all.
