One Billion Rising New Mexico has partnered with The City of Albuquerque and The Life Link who are proud to announce:
The New Mexico World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, to be held at Albuquerque Civic Plaza this Friday, 29 July 2016, from 9am to 1pm. Joining forces with the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General, the Coalition to STOP Violence against Native Women, Tewa Women United, One Billion Rising, and others, are devoting the day to raising awareness about Human Trafficking, educating the community about available resources, showing solidarity with victims, and campaigning to abolish modern day slavery in New Mexico and around the world.
Speakers for the event include Albuquerque Mayor Richard J. Berry, New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas, and many others. Entertainment includes live music and dance, food trucks, a performance by Graviel De La Plaga, and more.
The coalition are also proud to announce the participation of SOLD: The Human Trafficking Experience. SOLD is a “multi-sensory experience that will educate you on the shocking reality of human trafficking, both locally and globally. Participants will be immersed into the lives of victims in nine different parts of the world. SOLD challenges participants to respond to human trafficking with justice, mercy, and humility”
