OBR Bangladesh celebrates the South Asian Women’s Day for Peace, Justice, Human Rights and Democracy and launches One Billion Rising: Rise For Revolution 2016!

SANGAT celebrates the voices of South Asian women, their rights and belief in peace, justice, human rights and democracy. Following the declaration of this day by Sangat – A South Asian Feminist Network – in October 2002, every year, several organisations come together as part of the International Fortnight Campaign against violence against women to express South Asian women’s solidarity. On November 30th Sangat networks symbolically connects all the ongoing activities in the different regions as a mark of solidarity and strength to root out violence in our regions.

On the same day, November 30th, OBR Bangladesh also launched the ongoing ONE BILLION RISING CAMPAIGN with discussions, cultural programs and dancing!
