1. South Asian Feminist Film Festival

“As part of the One Billion Rising Campaign 2026, Nepal rose in collective resistance. In this spirit of feminist solidarity, the South Asian Feminist Film Festival curated a powerful selection of films from across South Asia, creating a radical cinematic space to challenge and dismantle patriarchy in all its forms. Guided by the theme “Cinema for Equality,” the festival affirmed cinema as a feminist tool of resistance, imagination, and collective liberation, amplifying voices to reclaim narratives of justice, dignity, and freedom.

The South Asian Feminist Film Festival brought together films from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka, highlighting stories of courage, justice, and women’s lived experiences.

A powerful collection of Films, vivid discussions on films and a reflection of our society. We connected with more than 10 colleges, over 100 students and over 45 CSOs of Nepal, gathering over 150 participants for the OBR celebration, watching feminist short films and dancing to Break the Chain to Rise for our Freedom.
Nepal is Rising, for OUR BODIES, OUR EARTH and OUR FREEDOM!!”

2. OBR Planning Meeting | December 26, 2025

Twenty-nine organisations joined the OBR planning meeting in Nepal with a determination to transform the architecture of violence, end the system that violates, occupies, excludes and destroys.

This year, We Rise for Our Bodies, Our Earth and Our Future. In a time when our bodies are controlled by patriarchal policies, our earth is exploited, and our future seems corrupted by war, genocide, occupation, starvation, and killing, we rise to a future emboldened with empathy and love for a future with safety, dignity, and abundance.
