Africa is Rising for PEACE, UNITY and EMPOWERMENT for women. Looking at the plight of women in the absence of peace…. In Africa we are experiencing civil wars and women are the first victims of wars. In Africa we have power imbalance which is caused by people who are fighting for power. Women who do not have meaningful power are not contributing to the governance of their countries hence reducing their chances at peace. As a region we need to Rise so that women have meaningful power in their countries and in the continent to bring peace and for them to be truly and widely empowered. It is time for African women to take action in uniting African People.
