On February 11, 2015 The Chelko Foundation sculpture “One Woman Rising” was officially dedicated on Freedom Park by the City of Atlanta. Commemorating the efforts of people from over 194 countries who rose collectively on February 12, 2013 as part of One Billion Rising, a Global Day of Action to demand an end to violence again women and girls.

The Atlanta City Council, on behalf of the City of Atlanta, officially declared Feb. 14, 2015 ONE BILLION RISING REVOLUTION DAY and support for One Billion Rising Atlanta’s call to action.

Mayors in cities across the country including San Francisco, Oakland, and more have also joined the communities’  RISING events. Let’s make every city a One Billion RISING City! Share your cities declarations and pledges with the world.
