Josina Z. Machel was brutally assaulted by her then partner, Rofino Licuco. Licuco was found guilty of the crime of serious physical violence in February 2017. On 20 June 2020, the Appeals Court overturned the decision citing that there were no eyewitnesses to the crime. This campaign started primarily as a response to the decision of the judicial court which reversed a guilty verdict against Rofino Licuco who attacked and maimed Josina Machel and left her blind in one eye. It is against this backdrop that we collectively say NO MORE. Not just for Josina Machel but for every victim and survivor of GBV, known and unknown, who has consistently been denied justice.
