One Billion Rising for Justice London currently has a stall at the Women of the World Festival, which kicked off today, the 7th of March and will continue until the 9th of March, at the Royal Festival Hall in the Southbank.
Volunteers are there to talk about One Billion Rising and drum up support for the campaign to end violence against women. People are being encouraged to sign up to our mailing list and if they are comfortable, to have their photo taken holding a sign with their statement “I am rising because…” which will then be added to the ‘Reasons for Rising’ gallery on the One Billion Rising UK website and Facebook page.
In addition, the ‘One Billion Rising’ short by Eve Ensler and Tony Stroebel will be shown at the special screening of WOW films from 2013. This will be a free event on the Clore Ballroom floor on Saturday, 8th of March from 10-11:30am. ‘One Billion Rising’ will conclude the screening and will undoubtedly have everyone in the audience leaving on a real high!
