BIGGER than THE TRAUMA

Women’s Film Festival and One Billion Rising present award-winning documentary “Bigger than Trauma” by Mirta Puhlivski and Vedrana Pribacic

17. January 2024 at 7pm in the Gorgon Hall, Museum of Contemporary Art

The movie is a story about brave women victims of war rape who remained silent for years due to fear of condemnation and stigma.
“Bigger than trauma” shows the importance of psychological and social rehabilitation and restoring dignity to women.

Before the film itself, a conversation was organized with the authors of the film, as well as experts who work on healing traumas and protecting women’s rights. Participating in the discussion are:

  • Mirta Puhlovski, the author of the movie “Bigger than Trauma”
  • Vedrana Pribacic, the author of the movie “Bigger than Trauma”
  • dr. sc. Anita Lauri Koralija, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb
  • Marijana Senjak, psychotherapist, psychologist and counselor at the Center for Victims of Sexual Violence at the Women’s Room in Zagreb
  • dr. sc. Maja Munivrana, full professor at the Department of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb.

The moderator of the panel will be female rights activist – Rada Borić, and the program will be announced by Danijela Stanojević, artistic director and producer of AFF/OBR.

“Bigger than Trauma” has won numerous awards, including 22 domestic and international film awards. It won as many as 4 Audience Awards, ‘Heart of Sarajevo’ for Human Rights and the Film Critics Award ‘Octavian’. This documentary is also the first movie in its category to win the ‘Golden Arena’ for best film.
