THE BIGGEST DANCE PROTEST IS HERE!
As we come into our 7th year of One Billion Rising, we are faced with bigger challenges.
Along with physical and emotional abuses that women suffer, we must look at the systemic violence in economic, political, socio-cultural, environmental spheres that afflicts women.
As Filipinas, it is a must for us to show that young women will not take it all sitting down, most importantly now, that we are being targeted by the current macho-fascist Duterte administration as war baits, and are recipients of misogynistic attacks, stateās intimidation and harassment propaganda as part of its nationwide crackdown on student leaders and activists.
As we continue to rise for free education, genuine land reform and food security, regular jobs and wage increase, and other basic social services that women need, we continue to rise for our right to organize and right to life.
This February, Gabriela Youth PUP in partnership with Center for Human Rights and Gender Studies (CHRGS), Sports Development Program Office (SDPO), and College of Human Kinetics (CHK) will launch a series of Rising activities as we bring the biggest dance protest to our university!
