Gabriela lawmaker Arlene Brosas: “Women face landlessness, dispossession of their agricultural and ancestral lands due to local and foreign interest, eviction from their homes, lack of decent job and wages, and lack of appropriate and quality social services and public infrastructure. Women also remain the target of different forms of violence and abuse inside the home, in the workplace, and in the streets.”
This International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Gabriela Women’s Party is one with the Filipino people in rage against the continuing and intensifying forms of violence against women. GWP and women from different parts of the country marks this day with the “Women’s Unity to End Abuse of Women and Motherland” at the Quezon City Memorial Circle, and the “National Day of Unity and Rage” spearheaded by the Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses in Malacanang in Rizal Park.
