I recently faced and Filmed, (Dig Deep Documentary still in process) the man who abducted me, raped me and attempted to kill me when I was 14 years old in 1984. He had been paroled for a few months for prior murders committed, when our paths crossed and he abducted me. I was lucky to escape. He was in prison from 1984 to 2010 and is now a free man, living in my hometown. For years I have lived in fear he would one day be free to seek me out to finish what I escaped from. Several months ago I started a Forgiveness project (Dig Deep Movement) for self empowerment, so that I may live free and I may be an inspiration to others to be free from the internal prison we as survivors live in, FEAR. I want to teach others to heal, to feel good in their own skin and feel fully alive and empowered. In my heart and mind, there are levels of justice. My attacker served time in prison, but was he rehabilitated? He certainly had not been rehabilitated after the prior 15 years in prison for previous murders. How is it possible he is now? I wont know the answer to that question for possibly years to come. However, I do know, I don’t have to live in fear. What is just, is MY freedom to live fully expressed, alive, joyfully, lovingly, compassionately and without the burden laid upon me from that tragic moment in time. My return to wholeness is about reclaiming who I was and who I am as a human and a woman for this planet and humanity. Justice is about not letting that tragedy define who I am today or tomorrow.. It is about not letting fear, pain, anger, resentment and shame rob me of my God given gift of Love, compassion and freedom to walk this earth uninhibited. Forgiving him empowered me to release all that stopped me from connecting with others in the world, so that I may experience unity and love in a new way. As the creator of “Dig Deep Movement” ` Peace through Forgiveness, I am dedicated to creating a gathering here in Phoenix, AZ on February 14, 2014 to join this cause, One Billion Rising, in a day of freedom, self expression, dancing, rejoicing and empowerment. Thank you One Billion Rising for all you do.
