About The Event
Our idea is to gather an important group of woman, with certain simbols that identify women, celebration and empowerment (skirts, colors), have some live music, drums, and and the beginnig give a context from ONE BILLION RISING, hopefully showing the film. And then start a dancing parade from the main square of the plaza to the main beach. We chose a friday night, at sunset, since this is the time when most people are out in the street enjoying the scene. We propose starting and ending with a small ritual. Dance in the form of a moving carnival, inviting street viewers to joing the celebration. We intend to incorporate men and woman and children, everything in the context of a "optimistic, and luminous revolution to end violence against women".
About The Organization
Espiral de Lunas
Circle of about 20 women of different origins and ages, different spiritual tradicions, and profesions. And having in common a history of circle encaounters to meditate on what is to be a woman today. Taking time to develop our consciosness on our cyclical self, our connection to nature and our empowerment as women.
