Dr. Miriam Engstrom is a psychologist, a writer, and an award-winning actress from Detroit, Michigan. She presently runs a support group for refugee women in Kirikkale, Turkey. She has lived overseas with her family since 2010. She was in Ukraine for three years and witnessed the beginning of the revolution on the Maidan and then arrived in Turkey as the Gezi Park protests were unfolding. Over the last three years, she has wittnessed a steady decline in women's rights in Turkey. It's time to take a stand.
