I am a mother, teacher, wife and goddess. I am a feminist. I chose compassion and non-violence as my protest. I love to dance and so want to dance in solidarity with my sisters around the world. I have been affected by the injustices of the system. I had an ex-stalker and showed up at court to get my restraining order and didn't get it because I didn't know I was supposed to have a lawyer. Why was I put on trial? It took several months and I had to hire a lawyer and keep pressing charges against my ex-stalker for me to finally get a restraining order and one guilty charge against him. He abused me verbally and physically. I would schedule time off work for court dates and sit with him behind me threatening me and it would be continued after hours of sitting at court. I know as an American I have it better than a lot of women, but OUR justice system is flawed. Our mindsets about rape and incest are flawed. So I am dancing to empower women everywhere. I am Rising for Justice because it is desperately needed everywhere. Peace!
