One Billion Rising Vienna 2016

Austria > Vienna > In front of the Parliament of Vienna > 2016-02-14 > 02:30 pm

About The Event

Our 4th Rising in Vienna is a very special one - for three reasons: First- as we in Europe are facing the biggest wave of refugees since mor than 70 years - we decided to dedicate our rising 2016 to them - especially to women escaping war, the effects of climate change, sexual discrimination, persecution, and other female-specific escape basics. Second - to be able to work more effectively also during the year - we now founded 2015 an organization called OBRA - 'One Billion Rising Austria - eine künstlerische Kampagne für ein Ende der Gewalt an Frauen und Mädchen' - we are cooperating with several organizations, such as Autonome Österreichische Frauenhäuser, Plattform 20000 Frauen, Frauenring, FZ, FeministAttac, Femme Fiscale, Frauenfilm and others. Third - for this year event, we are lucky to cooperate with Tanzquartier Wien - TQW - the biggest center for contemporary dance in Austria - with workshops and the possibility to use their studios for the afterparty. The artists and artistic groups for this year are: Achille Acakpo, Amnesty International, arge blumen/ Monika Bauer, Eva Lepold, Bhakti Devi, Bernhard Weiss & Friends, Carlota Corte-Real & Jutta Schwarz, Cat Monroe Davis, Chor Gegenstimmen, DJane Kollektiv Brunnhilde, EsRap, Felicitas&KatrinWölger, Jules Mekontchou, Julischka Stengele, Kitana, Larissa Breitenegger, Mareme Dia, Maren Rahman, Maria Stern, Martha Labil, melamar, Nigar Hasib, ramba samba & STiXX-FRAUEN TROMMELN, TänzerInnen aus dem TQW- Workshop-Special in Kooperation mit OBRA , Salah Ammo & Peter Gabis, Samuel Ekeh, SlowForward, Shereen Mansour, Victoria Lozar, 2reen
