"Together Against Violence" is community social action in response to gender-based violence in the Cowichan Valley. Community social action, or grassroots movement is action that springs up spontaneously due to a pressing issue that a community feels needs to be addressed. "Together Against Violence" means working collaboratively, engaging each other about the issues, and can include breaking isolation, choosing to notice, reporting, listening, organizing, promoting or attending events, starting a White Ribbon Campaign, volunteering, fundraising, media responses...
