"Together Against Violence" is community social action in response to gender-based violence in the Cowichan Valley. Community social action, or grassroots movement is action that springs up spontaneously due to a pressing issue that a community feels needs to be addressed. Gender-based violence in the Cowichan Valley is a pressing issue. "Together Against Violence" means working collaboratively, engaging each other about the issues, and can include breaking isolation, choosing to notice, reporting, listening, organizing, promoting or attending events, starting a White Ribbon Campaign, volunteering, fundraising, media responses...
