About The Event
This year we are rising for REVOLUTION. Join us!
Sunday February 14th, 2016!! Wear Pink and Red!
12:00pm:
Set up and Drive donations begin at the Capitol, on or near the West steps of the Capitol building. Organizations who are setting up a booth are welcome to set up at this time.
Please give yourself time to get over to the Denver Pavilions by 12:45pm if you are planning to participate in the flashmob and march.
12:30pm:
Any and all drummers interested will go into a freestyle drum circle which will start to draw a crowd in front of the Pavilions. All drummers are welcome—please spread the word!!
1:15pm:
Our Break the Chain Music will be played over the Denver Pavilions sound system—jump in when you hear it! We will dance Debbie Allen's Break the Chain dance, in a flash mob style, and anyone is welcome to dance!! Please try to stay on the sidewalks as much as possible so that the Mall Ride will have minimal interruption.
1:30-2:00pm:
We will march as a group to the Capitol Building, there will be a large 8x2.5 foot One Billion Rising Banner we will carry at the front of the march, this way onlookers will know what it is as we approach! We will be making additional signs in support of our cause at some of the dance practice times that are listed below, feel free to make your own signs as well!
2:00pm:
Arrive at the Capitol for the Rally. Music will be playing as we arrive, so dance and have fun! Drummers are welcome to drum as everyone is arriving as well.
2:30pm:
Speakers will begin after Caitlin Brozna-Smith's opening remarks.We will be having various speakers and performances, followed by speakers representing the various non-profit groups that will be present at the Rally.
