About The Event
All residents of Addison County and the Town of Rochester, VT are invited to take part in One Billion Rising 2014 by attending our Middlebury Zumba Rising Dance Party at the McCullough Social Space inside the McCullough Student Center located at 14 Old Chapel Road on Middlebury College Campus, Middlebury, VT on Feb 14th, 2014. The kickoff will be at 11;45 with welcome remarks and sign making session. The Zumba Rising Dance Party take place from 12:00-12:45 followed by a walking parade with signs through town to call for an end to violence against women. The walk will begin at McCullough student center on campus proceed down college street to the Rotary, across the bridge and back and down Route 30 to the Middlebury College Performing Arts Center Parking lot. Participants are asked to park at the Middlebury College Performing Arts Center Parking Lot. Feel free to bring drums or musical instruments to make some noise during the walk. Dressing in red and black is recommended but optional. Participants are welcome to join in on the Zumba Rising Dance Party, the Rising Walk or hopefully both! This event is free and open to all! This is your chance to stand, dance and rise up in solidarity with people from all over the world who are united in ending violence against women, promoting gender equality, Justice for survivors and accountability for perpetrators. Violence Against Women impacts all of us. Working together we can make a change! Join us!
