About The Event
Donors visiting from the United States with iconic feminist Gloria Steinem through the New York-based project Direct Donor Action spent the afternoon paired with an adolescent girl from the Red-Light District to hear her unique point of view. Through a series of structured activities, donors were able to get to know the girl and hear about the realities of her life: her past, daily routine, community, and her hopes (and fears) for the future. The extended one-on-one time allowed donors to come to see the girls from the Red Light area as not only vulnerable, but also as individuals with so much to share about their aspirations for their futures.
