Our event will take place in the city of Castelo Branco, and we will include our dance in a carnival parade that will occur on that day, organized by the City Council of Castelo Branco. During the afternoon, several groups from different associations and villages will march on that parade and present a theme, involving costumes and decorated cars. We will take advantage of the fact that Carnival parade attract's so many people to give a bigger visibility to our movement and our revolution, and to draw attention to all kinds of violence, and the need to stop them! We will have a group with people from different ages, and older people will walk side by side with youngsters, and then the youngsters from a social project of our association, called 'A Vida A Cores' will dance the "Break the chain" choreography for everyone to see!

Development Association Amato Lusitano

Amato Lusitano - Associação de Desenvolvimento is an organization from the local government that promotes social/professional insertion, cultural and economic development. We work directly with the communities of the county of Castelo Branco and we value our local physical and human resources within a competitive district and at the national and international level. During the last 16 years we worked in the social intervention field on the community, basing our intervention on the possible risk and factors leading to social marginalization, through enlargement of the autonomy of the vulnerable community (immigrants, unemployed people, domestic violence women victims -families and children, and seniors) considering their social dimensions and favoring geographical cohesion. In addition, the organization has a range of projects and workers with a different professional background. The intervention on the ground is based on empower vulnerable and dysfunctional families and their children and others members of the communities with all kinds of social needs.
