About The Event
We are a group of Amnesty International in Coimbra, Portugal. The fight for women's rights is one of our fields of action so, when we got to know the v-day project, we decided we should do it in our city. Coimbra is city of students and workers and that makes us extremely interested in creating awareness of the thematics of rape and violence agains women all over the world. V-day in coimbra will be a meeting for informally discuss the world's situation in what concerns the respect of women rights, through dancing, debating and exchanging ideas. To do this, we gathered a group of rehearsed dancers and important people who work in organisations in Coimbra to talk and share their experiences in the field and to teach the population to act against the scourge that is rape and violence against women. Therefore, we invite everyone in Coimbra to attend our event of the 8th of march.

GAIC - stading for Group of the Amnesty International in Coimbra - is a group of dedicated activists who regularly gather together to develop Amnesty International's campaigns in the fight for Human Rights for everyone, everywhere.
