About The Event
The 4th annual College Brides Walk is a South Florida collaborative involving eight colleges and universities, service providers, and activist groups devoted to ending gender-based violence. The event is being held February 14, 2014 on the main campus of Barry University in Miami Shores. It features workshops on a variety of issues related to abuse, assault, gender-based violence, and victim advocacy, survivor stories, performances and a 6 mile walk to and from partner Johnson and Wales University. Lunch and dinner are served to attendees.

About The Organizer
Laura Finley
Laura Finley is Assistant Professor of Sociology & Criminology at Barry University. She is author or co-author of 13 books, as well as numerous book chapters and journal articles. In addition, Dr. Finley is actively involved in many local, state, and national initiatives devoted to promoting peace, justice and human rights, including No More Tears, the Humanity Project, Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, Amnesty International, and the Peace and Justice Studies Association.
