About The Event
Join us for another One Billion Rising event on Sunday 14th February at 12 midday in Brisbane’s City Mall. This Brisbane OBR event is organised by Vulcana Women’s’ Circus and WaW Dance, in collaboration with other Brisbane organisations that work in the area of domestic violence or support women in other ways. Together we are rising to support the global movement of OBR in calling for an end to violence against women as well as heightening awareness of local DV issues.
People of all ages are welcome to join us in an event that begins with a flashmob dance that can be learnt beforehand. Even if you don’t want to dance, come along to show support or find out more about DV issues and if you feel like it just join in the dance on the day. We have invited a well-known speaker from a Brisbane DV support community to address the event.
About The Organization
Vulcana Women's Circus and WaW Dance
Vulcana is a circus and performance company that has been making work with women, girls and communities in South East Qld for the last 20 years. WaW Dance works to inspire older women to courageously express the wisdom of their experience through the joy of participating in dance. We have worked in partnership on several projects. Together we are inviting our supporters and the wider community to join us.
