About The Event
Flash dance in Sheffield City Centre Peace Gardens from 12.30 to 13.30, bringing together a range of individuals /groups / organisations / professional dancers and dance students / singers and drummers to perform 'Break the Chain' . Lets make this even bigger and better than 2013! Everybody welcome to take part on the day even if you don't know the dance - we will do a practice run-through but you can also access our practice video below.
We're also planning other events / activities leading up to the flash dance - banner making, video-making, writing stories, artwork, readings, surveys, so please check out our Facebook page and Wordpress blog (see below)
About The Organization
One Billion Rising Sheffield
We're a collective of people who came together in 2013 to organise the first One Billion Rising flash dance and the first community performance of "A Monologue, A Memory, A Rant and a Prayer" in Sheffield. The group is comprised of women and men of different ages, ethnic backgrounds, sexuality and life experience - students, doctors, teachers, refugees, local politicians, dancers, activists, writers, health workers, gardeners and more. We're an open group and welcome new members to our planning team for One Billion Rising 2015.
