 About Amnesty and V-Day

Amnesty International is a Nobel Peace Prize-winning grassroots activist organization with more than 3 million supporters, activists and volunteers in more than 150 countries campaigning for human rights worldwide. The organization investigates and exposes human rights abuses, educates and mobilizes the public, and works to protect people wherever justice, freedom, truth and dignity are denied.

For decades, Amnesty International has researched, campaigned, educated, organized and lobbied to stand up for the rights of women and girls.

In October 2012, Amnesty and V-Day collaborated to raise awareness about violence against women and girls at the XX Factor: Town Hall on Women’s Rights. V-DAY founder V (formerly Eve Ensler) delivered the keynote address at the XX Factor event, and spoke about Amnesty’s contribution to women’s rights: “It is organizations like Amnesty that are really keeping the human body of sense and heart and spirit and value alive.”
