How do we get there? First we have to speak the truth and see the rape culture that rules our world. We have domestic violence, incest, sex trafficking, politicians who make laws over women’s bodies, inopportunity for poor women of color, gender inequality, and laws that don’t prosecute the Johns who buy sex and create the dehumanization of women. This global movement must transform the cultural ideologies that perpetuate violence against women and girls. We must create opportunities for all women to pursue a fulfilling life of dignity, self worth and love. How do we do this? We educate and empower women and girls. We teach nonviolence and educate boys and men to understand a relationship built on respect. We make laws that protect women and children from sexual assault and sex trafficking. We stop blaming the survivor and start holding the violator accountable.
