One billion voices rising against the crime for women is probably the phenomena redefining the societal role of women in a patriarchal society as India. The important question however is the extent to which these voices are heard and implemented. The deep rooted fundamentalistic feeling of superiority over women and sexual appeasement in the Indian men is the biggest bereavement of our developing society. With constant reforms on the way, liberalisation of our thoughts on societal roles of a woman and abolishment of our quaint patriarchal traditions is exactly the requirement for upliftment of a female in the societal hierarchy of India and associated societies. Hopefully, the men can be intellectual enough to understand the gravity of this problem and step up to reshuffle this degrading social order .
