My Revolution began four years ago when I left my husband because of domestic violence. Since then I have continued to raise my children with him yet the abuse and the violence has not ceased and my son and my daughter continue to witness his abuse and violence toward women. While living apart from him has given me the space to educate myself and heal from the trauma, I continue to be challenged by this issue in our lives. Now I am fighting to resolve this issue by pursuing custody of our children so that I can begin the work to heal them as well. Through this life challenge I have discovered how common violence against women is even in a country such as the United States where we have gained more rights and freedom as women over the last 100 years. I love women because I see their strength and compassion as a foundation for change. My revolution will continue as long as violence against women exists and I will use my own experience to support women everywhere on the planet who suffer from violence. Besides…I love to dance!
