Justice is
witnessing, knowing, celebrating, accepting, and forgiving all beings
both alike and unlike my own
Justice is
engaging in transformative healing that is creative, resilient, and whole
in communities big and small
Justice is
overcoming the fear of what is unknown and replacing the hate fueled by greed
with respect, gratitude, accountability, and awareness
Justice is
alive within my every day choices, words, and actions
just as it is in my culture’s political and social institutions
Justice is not
for only those deemed worthy in certain cases, during convenient instances
it does not expire or sway at a whim
Justice is not
at the expense of one over another but for the betterment of all
it is not punishment or for revenge
Justice is
ending oppression and all violence
now
because, simply
when my sister and brother is without
I am not whole
