Justice is rape and assault survivors not being afraid of confronting their assailants because of fear. Justice is not victim blaming, “slut shaming,” or spreading awareness of how to “avoid being raped.” Justice is not being asked, “Why didn’t you push him off of you? Why didn’t you scream? Why didn’t you run?” Justice is not being revictimized by the police, the court, your family, your lover, your friends. Justice is teaching men and women to respect and value women, no matter what they wear, what they drink, or how they act.
No one should ever have to live in fear.
