This series of photos was created for V-Day to help raise awareness about violence against women and girls. The woman in the photo could be your friend, mother, lover, daughter – she is every woman who has ever had her heart bruised by physical abuse. She is vulnerable, strong, creative – she is bearing her story for all to see and rising to stand among the one billion and counting who have said enough is enough. There is never an excuse for violence.
