About The Event
The Zonta club of Kaua‘i, a international organization focused on empowering women & girls globally by starting with our specific locales, supports the ONE BILLION RISING movement in their global RISING garden campaign. The Papahānaumoku Peace Garden celebrates the Native Hawaiian earth goddess Papahānaumoku and Indigenous ways of knowing and being in Pono relationship with the ‘āina. Collaborations between Zonta and community orgs focused on women’s empowerment and environmental stewardship on Kaua’i will thrive to create a peace garden dedicated to raising awareness and donations to address food insecurity, gender and ‘āina-based violence.
