About The Organizer

Karin Whittaker

My daughter and I are dancers in Wye Valley Dance School run by Tamara Barker.
I came across the V-Day website via Facebook - I cannot believe that I didn't know about this campaign until this year !!! It is for our daughter and her friends that we mothers have joined together. We wish to help create a world that sees women and girls as persons in their own right, not judged, abused or used, trafficked, exploited or bullied, shamed or raped - ALL THIS HAS TO STOP!
We believe that justice for women means equal access to education and employment, freedom from physical , psychological and sexual harassment and abuse ,freedom from exploitation, including that by the media and the autonomy to control their own lives.
If you are touched by these issues the following organisations may be able to help.
National Domestic Violence Line 0808 2000 247
Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse service 0845 602 9035
Women's Aid Monmouthshire 01873859011
Victim support 0845 3030900
Wales Domestic and sexual abuse line 0808 8010 800
