About The Event

"A thought-provoking art instllation that shares the realities of a domestic violence relationship and provides a safe place for people to their stories of survival" An interactive clothesline art installation - Come and add your bit to the line! Creative workshops to be run by Broken Hill Art Exchange and the Fabric Closet. Music to include David Curry and the iStreet performers. Light refreshments - fruit, cupcakes and chilled water to be provided.

About The Organization

FWCLC Inc.

FWCLC Inc. including Warra Warra Legal Service (WWLS) and Far West Community Legal Centre (FWCLC) in collaboration with Broken Hill Art Exchange are rising up against domestic violence in Broken Hill. This event will also form part of the Festival of Respect.

WWLS is an Aboriginal family violence prevention legal service. They provide free legal information, advice and representation to survivors of family violence. Their core areas of practice include family law, care and protection law, apprehended violence orders and victim support.

FWCLC is a community legal centre. They provide free legal information and advice to members of the community who can not afford private solicitors on a broad range of law including family law, civil law and consumer law.

Both legal services provide regular outreach services throughout the Far West of New South Wales.

Both legal services have a focus on community development and engagement and are committed to women rising up against domestic violence in Broken Hill on 14 February 2014.
