Feminist activists in western Colorado united 3 years ago to form Women Helping Others Resist Exploitation and Sexism. Together, we have worked to support survivors of gender violence and to advocate for women’s equality and reproductive freedom. This will be our third year to host a One Billion Rising event. We’ve held rallies for women’s rights and attended many court hearings in support of survivors of gender violence. Sometimes we just get together to watch a woman power movie or to talk about issues. We’ve created a community of 300 feminists and welcome anyone looking for the camaraderie of strong, likeminded women and men.
