About The Event
Hagerstown Community College's NOW Club (a chapter of the National Organization for Women) and the Spectrum Club are sponsoring a One Billion Rising event on Thursday, March 26th from 6pm - 9pm in the Student Center.
THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
The evening will include:
A display of shirts from the Clothesline Project, a program that brings awareness to violence against women by letting survivors express themselves by decorating a T-shirt.
Videos showing clips from other One Billion Rising events from around the world.
An open mic session for those who would like to share stories, music or poems inspired by events related to violence against women.
Music by feminist musicians Mel Yourich and Tracy Salka, from the band Luscious Purr.
We dedicate ourselves to ending violence against women. Come join us in our stand against violence!
