About The Event

Community dialogue on movement building on rural community level to unite against violence and how we can use technology to advance women's and girls rights. Young women who have been part of the film-making workshop will share their experiences, dancing, spoken word performances, sharing of our lived-experiences and realities, talks and sharing of SRHR information, condom distribution and awareness raising. We will be rising to End Rape, Sexual Harassment, Poverty and Economic Injustice! The event is in collaboration with Young Feminist Movement Namibia. Everyone is welcome!!!

About The Organizer

Irene //Garoës

Irene //Garoës is a feminist activist from Namibia. Irene is working with women’s rights organisations (indigenous women, women who live under customary law, lesbian women and rural women) on training young people on issues of human rights, Sexual Reproductive and Human Rights (SRHR), conflict resolution and healing from violence, as well as organizing and coordinating training's with life skills teachers and religious leaders, training young women in self-defense and feminist leadership and movement building. Irene is passionate about poetry, storytelling and film-making.
